Riverfront at Las Colonias
Grand JunctionCO
Join us for the 1st Annual Grand Valley River Fest on May 14th from 11 am – 5 pm – hosted by Grand Junction Adventures and River Rescue Dynamics with support from and proceeds to benefit RiversEdge West and Save-a-Life Jacket Program.
The goal of the festival is to educate and engage the community on all aspects related to our local waterways: Stewardship & Environmental Ethics, Boater Safety & Recreation.
Highlights include:

Rubber Ducky Race – 11:30 am:

RiversEdge West will be hosting a rubber ducky race and the winner will go home with a Rival Hoss Hala paddleboard!
Purchase a numbered rubber ducky (or several!) and watch it float down the Colorado River. The race will take place at the Las Colonias Slough/River Park, as well as be live-streamed – so anyone anywhere can participate and watch their duckies race! (Winner will pay shipping and handling costs if not located in Grand Junction, CO).
Ducks can be purchased for $20 each, 6 for $100, or 12 for $200. Only 400 ducks will be sold; get yours before they sell out!
Buy tickets in advance or at the event. Online ticket sales will close at noon on May 13th. In-person ticket sales will close on May 14th, the day of the event, at 11:00 am.
Please note: If the Las Colonias Slough isn’t open by 5/14 we will postpone the event for a later date. Event proceeds go towards RiversEdge West’s Education and River Stewardship programs.
Community Gear Swap – 10 am – 5pm:
5% of each item sold will be donated to Save-a-Life Jacket Program.
Slackline Contest – 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm:
Test your slackline skills in a slackline contest across the Butterfly Pond. There will be three different slackline events. It is free to participate and there will be cash and gear prizes for winners.
